Is there a minimum requirement regarding how deep a power cable requires to be buried underground in a back yard please?.

Noticed that a previous contractor has put a power cable that is to provide power to a hot tub only 40mm under the ground.

I think its 240mm in gardens but I'm not 100% on that

It does say it needs to run on its own rcd circuit and be armoured/in conduit buried at a depth not likely to be damaged by disturbance.
In the real world people will just lay it below the surface because they are ****s but I imagine it's still on an rcd so you shouldn't die if you go through it.. but this is you we are talking about

Far as I'm aware it's ran on its own rcd circuit and is armoured. It has being tested and is safe. However I've asked that the new contractors bury it deeper and move it well away from where it runs which currently runs barely below ground alongside gravel boards.
