Bloody electric kettles. Only got electric at my house no gas.

Pees me off trying to steam shrink tube etc onto rigs, when the automatic switch keeps switching the kettle off.

Had a look at the whistling kettles but they state 'Not suitable for domestic gas or electric hobs'

Any ideas for a cheap solution folks?

Do you have a gas stove & kettle that you take fishing?

Use your fishing kettle on your cooker.

Leave the lid up, the shut off doesn't operate then.

Small saucepan and partly cover to give the required outlet.

Boil the kettle, take the lid off when boiled, dip the rig in the boiled water, shape shrink tube to desired angle...

Best suggestion to suit my needs (saucepan with a lid would also work for me). Never realised the kettle kept boiling if you left the lid open.

Where does that steam come from around the switch that burns your fingers? Ive often wondered that 😬
