Hi all,
Has anyone got any user experience of the Miltec ECWCS jackets? I've got a couple of Miltec bits and they are excellent in some ways, but not so excellent in others. I've always thought I'd just buy a proper US army ECWCS but the Miltec one coming with the removable fleece liner has turned my head a bit... Any reviews welcome.

If you want the real thing Tennier industries are the ones. I bought mine off Ebay.
Loads of copies about but not the real thing.

If buying 2nd hand then also 'Tennessee Apparel', they also had the US Army contract, made to exact same spec as the Tennier ones, see post #115 HERE

I've got an US ECWS Jacket (surplus from EBAY), the 'ventilation' zips under the armpits leak like hell in anything more then fog and concentrate the water down your sides. I wear it for dog walking now, and haven't even got a dog.

Miltec one is very good. Miles better than the Helikon and the fleece is excellent. I have two, one for fishing and one for just general winter walking. Warm and waterproof.

Got one from Military 1st a while back. Not waterproof in sustained rain. Nice jacket though, so use it on days when it'll be damp, rather than pissing down. I got a Pentagon softshell jacket for wet days - that IS waterproof and warm too (has a micro fleece lining).

Sounds like there's problems with all of them to some extent then, as is to be expected I guess. Cheers all.
