Is it possible to cast a solid bag upto 80mtrs on budget tackle?

What T/C rod would I need, Lead weight, Size of reel etc.

Any advice much appreciated.

I'm used to casting small method feeders 70mtrs with a feeder rod but would like to cast a bit further with a solid bag during the colder months, but no idea what set up I would need to achieve this.

Almost certainly yes.

A 3.25 or 3.5tc rod with big pit reel. 15lb 0.35ish mono straight through

Tightly packed solid bag totalling 3.5 - 4 oz including lead.

And most importantly good technique.

Seen a second hand Wychwood Riot 65 Big Pit I can get for £25 just a bit worried by the weight of it 890g.

Are these reels any good?

For what you need it to do it will be ideal, just give it the once over and make sure it's spins smoothly and the drag is still ok.

Reels spend 99% of their time on the rests. Weight doesn't really matter
