Been using a tempest air2 for years with Army Andy zip on front and overwrap for occasional use. It feels like the perfect bivvy for me; really light, really quick to set up, versatile for all waters and seasons and compact but roomy enough. Can't fault it. I don't even bother with the bivvy bag just chuck it straight on the barrow with no detachable parts to worry about.
When I heard they were delisting it a year or two back I panicked and bought a spare one in the sale. My current one is still sound no torn peg points or anything like that, but the fabric is starting to go a bit see-through in places. So before I send my spare one away to get it modded with a front infill, is there anything better out there right now? I think I know the answer but thought I'd check as I don't keep up-to-date with new stuff coming on the market. Cheers

I was a huge fan of the air and also had the modded front . But I've found that aquatex took an age to dry , especially in the winter months and is also quite heavy .Then the v2 brolly came along but was just to small and now being in my mid 50's struggled with the height . So when the 100t was brought out it was everything I needed. And with the add ons is the one bivvy does everything for me . Including week long trips home and abroad. Overnighters, Or if my granddaughter wanted to accompany me occasionally . I just does everything I want.
Being nylon it's lighter and very quick drying. If they did it in an aquatex version I wouldn't bother with it . The 100t for me right now is the ultimate bivvy . I have most of the add ons and they stay in the van and are used as and when required to any given situation

I've had nylon before but couldn't live with it cos of light coming through. I find Aquatex is almost blackout. Yes it takes an age to dry but I've got room in the garage to leave it up for a few days after a session.

I too have an air although mine is the mk1 . I then bought a MB tempest with the nylon block . This is my go too bivvy for spring / summer and autumn with a skull cap . I love the option of the front if I need it , although it spends 95% of the time rolled back like an air . I'm not sure if this model is still made by trakker . The air I use in winter with an overwrap . I must be one of the few who prefer nylon to aquatex. Yes it is lighter but dries so much faster .

I'm with you on the nylon front. It weighs less and dries quicker, requires no care at all.
I don't get why light penetration is an issue, why would you want it to be dark in your shelter?

Went from the Air to the V2 Brolly actually prefer the nylon as mentioned it drys quicker & the size difference is negligible!!
