Looking at using size 11's instead of size 8 swivels in parts of the bottom end of my setup and trying to find breaking strains without much success.

Anyone have a link to something or know what the breaking strains of swivels for brands like Korda/Gardner/ESP is?

My water's weedy and snaggy in places so don't want to hook a decent fish only to see a swivel fail - even though size 8' are big old lumps of metal and do stand out

Berkeley swivels have a stated BS on the pack. The 11 are 25/30lb from memory. Happily use size 11 swivels for carp rigs but use 8 or bigger for attaching leads where the swivel takes the full energy of the cast.

Your over complicating things. The extra size of a size 8 swivel over a size 11 will make no difference at all to the carp.

Most swivels circa size 8 are rated around 50lb I believe, as below don't over think it 👍

I fancy using the Korda Dark Matter weights rather than messing about with putty and they only fit on size 11's hence the original question 👍👍
