I know there are many of these rechargeable zappers on the web nowadays, but I recall seeing a thread about this one from Wolf a few weeks ago and last week was the first real chance I've had to look at it in use and I thought I'd just give it a bit of a plug as it's not bad at all for around the £20 mark.
About an hour before dark, having had the bivvy door open all day, I popped the zapper in and zipped up the front. Having not done this previously I could usually see all manner of bugs flying about inside the bivvy against the back light of the tablet.
However an hour before dark and left to do its work, a totally clear (flying) bug free bivvy when it came to retreat to the bed chair
Happy days. If you lads haven't got one of these zappers - doesn't have to be the Wolf, IMO it's a good investment.

If you leave the door open that will attract the bugs as they make a beeline for the light.

Leave it on just by the door and it will zap them before they enter

no nooo it will just attract them been using a variation of this for 20 years still got my first one that runs on 4 large U2 batteries and still works ! gives a real crack when one gets zapped as said if you zip it up an hour before bed it will kill everything inside but you need to have a net over the door all night

Lol er no. Only time to use this is when your bivvy door or mozie mesh is zipped up. What this will do the is zap the ones that hide on the sides of ur bivvy. Ps a candle does the same. I have one and it works well. BUT dont leave door open you will get every flying insect coming in.

Nope, or those of us that don't actually have a door lol. A couple of UCO candle lamps with citronella tealights in them does the job. I can count the number of Mozzie bites I've had since doing that on one hand .

I used a thermocell for the first time over the weekend and was blown away with how good it was. Literally clears all the flying bugs from the area... takes 15-20mins to get going but after that was great.
only draw back is the pads last for 4-5 hours each so have to wake up and change at night. But i generally always wake up for a few hours anyway to have a pee and look/listen for shows.

I have one of these static zappers but I found it a case of the mozzies could get me before they got attracted to the light and fried. So I bought a bug bat from Aldi's about £3 a few years ago and once my net is down, I have a quick search for them and fry them and it worked out to be the best and quickest solution to clear them all up.
About a month ago, I saw Aldi's were selling them again for about £4 but Boyes has them in stock for just over £3.

I really like mine people moan it's £20 but it's very compact and rechargeable, a lot of the alternatives are either much bigger or need a lot of batteries I try to travel as light as possible so this is perfect for me (when I need it)

Never been bitten more than since i started using this.
