I'm getting back into my beloved carp fishing after 4 years away due to family stuff but sold all my gear 😭

so now buying a new set up 🤑
I would like some advice on rods as have around £1000 to spend and wanted a rod that can help with my distance work but still have a nice action to play the fish ?
Also 12 foot or 13 foot ??

Harrison aviator 12 ft plus or the 13ft 3.5 lb should be on the list to take a look at.

I have the free spirit ctx 3.25tc rods and for the money they are great for playing fish and for distance work 👍

If you want loads of rod makes and models suggested, with no rationale, this forum is the place for that.
If you want advice, and to see whats out there, your best bet is to go into a shop and have a chat with them

Yes absolutely right, unfortunately though I live in rural west Wales 🏴 so nearly 2 hours to the closest one 😭so trying the easiest option first 😄

Where are you fishing and what do you term "distance"?
For an off the shelf job that has cast record distances - some companies might claim their rods are capable of 200yds, this rod actually will do it and some - for the money, the Shimano TX7 Intensity are a very good choice. £660 for 3 rods.
