Anyone point me in the direction of how you can mod the deeper chirp to extend the range?

Not modding the Chirp itself but buying a Fisheye range extender. I've measured it at just over 200 yards through curiosity and was getting perfect signal without dropping out at all even when I turned the boat away from me. Tad pricey but it works so I don't mind.

Have a look on Amazon for a VONETS VAP11S - same used by ND claimed upto 200yds (I think) boosted range. Pretty easy to setup via their onboard wizard. Just find some old router box, add some antennas on the outside plus a battery and you're sorted

Is it the Vonets VAP11AC or the VAP11S?

The VAP11AC does not seem to have antennas?

Wi fi Range extender

The mk2 has power (than you can link to your tablet / phone whilst using) . . the cheaper smaller variant requires power (external pack etc)
