Do any of you have one of these fult readers that you plug I to your car to find out when a fult comes up ? If so what one do you have ? I won't to get one but don't won't to spend silly money I've seen some on ebay for about £15 to £20 but don't no if any good

Only used it once a couple of years ago, seemed to be ok. I've not compared it to a professional on though
The ebays reviews are mostly good, probably ok for the occasional diy user.

If you still got the Seat i would get a VAG specific reader. My son has a Skoda and i got him a Vgate reader off Ebay
which read the codes on his.

I got him the Vgate vs450 For Audi/VW/Skoda/Seat had it a few years so don't know if they still do it.

I think the vgate is just a wifi adapter that plugs into the obd2 port. It connects to a wifi device, such as an iphone, and you can download apps to read the data. You can also get apps specific to certain cars which can adjust stuff in the ecu. I have bimmertec for my car, and use it through the vgate adaptor. I have been able to turn the stop start function off, change certain things on the display, set the mirrors to fold automatically when the car is locked/unlocked etc. My vgate cost about £20 from amazon. The app was about £45, but turning the stop start off was worth it on its own

I have this one, works well, the thing to remember is when
you plug it into the car DON'T put the ignition key in, then go to
the menu to read the codes, after that clear the code/s, I learnt
the hard way....kept putting the key in.

My one is foe a Merc ML350 sport, I think they are car specific.

Reading further down that description, they are universal as long as its an obd2 port after certain dates

And if you're not satisfied it's easy to take it back to the shop you bought it from as well

Thanks for the info guys. Think I've found the problem. A faulty dpf pressure sensor.
