Okuma get good reviews on here so probably worth having a look at their range. Apparently good value and you should be able to pick out something the size you are after.
Word of warning though, some of the reels recommended on here are even bigger than your Diawa so it's worth checking the weight, reel capacity etc before you buy.
BTW I've also got a Diawa 4050 thats still working fine but like you I find it unnecessarily big and heavy for where I fish. I much prefer my smaller reels.
