Had these for about 2 years now, switched over to fishing a super thin braid and the stows are no longer gripping the line effectively, with wind quite often knocking the bobbins off the braid or it being a real ache to get them set up correctly.

Wondered if anyone had any tricks or solutions to this issue aside from buying new bobbins/heads.

A rubber O ring over the clip part or a small elastic band wrapped tightly around if you can't get one

Nice one mate, any idea what size I'd need? Will take one of the heads down to the plumbing shop and see

Submerge them in hot water to soften the clips. Then whilst hot, cable tie them really tightly. Allow to cool to reset the clips tighter.

Or just do the sensible thing and buy safeliners

Haha, last night whilst I was mega annoyed at the clip falling off for the 1800384737th time, I did contemplate it. Not sure I'd be able to explain that one away

It's the mark5 version you want to look out for. Does away with alarms altogether. There's a mercury tilt switch and gyro built into the bobbin which are usb charged. Instead of the alarm picking up line movement. The bobbin detects itself moving and sends a signal to a remote box. No tradicional alarm required anymore. Does away with weight, packs down to nothing as no alarm needed. Industry changer.

At the minute we use an alarm and a bobbin to indicate a run. Makes perfect sense to combine the two into one unit
