I am fishing a venue that ideally requires a shorter rod, could I use 2.25lb 10fts with a PVA solid bag casting max 70yards? Or do I need to purchase 10ft 3lb?

I'd personally want a 3lb. Or make sure the solids bags are very small. Won't take a lot to snap a 2.25

I've used 2.25tc 10ft scopes to that range with 1.5oz lead and tightly packed golf ball size bags of caster and maggot.

depends on conditions as the cross wind and margin for error ( as in on a dustbin lid at 70 yard) or to an Island.. to me there's a big difference.. I have 3lb scopes they would be ideal for it.. 2.25lb TC possible

If windy I would up the lead size but I normally used 10lb syncro xt line with mine and there was not much in the way of snags on the venue only around the margins and the carp were very old with only a few low 20's so snags and fish size should obviously be a consideration.
