Long time now since Europe stopped imports of our shellfish and as a lover of seafood why are our fishmongers not full of the stuff and prices rising instead of falling?

The prices are plenty high enough, thank you. Four medium mackerel £5.10! Tourist rates at the moment, more's the pity.

I though that myself a while back. The family kept binge watching hells kitchen and I wanted to see what the fuss was all about with scallops.
When I finally found some fresh ones after looking for a few weeks I didn't like them

Love them as well along with muscles, shrimp, prawn, crab, crayfish, lobster ect when I used to boat fish we had a huge pan with smoked bacon fat and Mackerell would be straight out the sea and in, the shop bought stuff is not the same.

None of us are that keen on fish in my house, a bit of cod and chips, and a sweet chilli bass with rice is about all we have really.
I used to do a few nights a year fishing an evening tide at Pagham, and we often had bbq'd fish. Mine was usually covered in enough sauce or seasoning so I couldn't taste it

Bloody heathen
My favourite food by far.
Fresh mussels from walney beach. Line caught plaice and cod from the boat. Mackerel on the spinner.
Developed a love of swordfish from my summers in Cornwall too

I like any type of fish that tastes of fish. Can't be doing with that bland and tasteless stuff like sea bass, I'd rather have fish fingers.

I'm just up the road from Pagham, used to catch a lot of bass from Chichester and the river arun but it's over rated eating wise, the arun has a reasonable run of sea trout which I do like.

Is there a decent tackle shop anywhere near Pagham now?
We used to head to bognor angling to get rag and peeler crab, found him really helpful and he'd often hang on for us when driving down after work.
