I'm posting this because I don't want anyone else to make the expensive mistake that I've just made.
On Sat 12th June I sold some NTXR's to Leachy on here. Because it was late in the day they were packaged up and I rushed round to the Post Office which was still open. When I asked about posting I was offered 1st Class. When I asked about tracking I was offered 1st Class Signed For at £16.85 and Tracked for about £27. This was where I made the mistake and said that £27 was a rip off so I would take the 1st Class Signed For as I would still be able to track it. I get home and take photos of the receipt to send to Leachy, I also took a photo of the tracking off the Royal Mail app. Long story short is that they CAN NOT track these items and they have not been delivered. They still show on the app as at the Post Office initially used.
At no point is any of this on Leachy and after today's deliveries I will refund him his money as it is my responsibility as the sender.
Please nobody else make this same mistake

Cheers bud, that's all I've got to hope for. Let's put it this way I'm not the favourite person in my household at the moment

I've just picked out 5 1st class signed for receipts at random out of a heap of 100's, imputed the Ref. number into the Royal Mail web site Track page, and traced every single one of them in seconds.

I have it tracked at the originating post office. They say that the next time it will be traced is when it is delivered and that they can't trace in between?

I know it's no help now but wouldn't special delivery of been better. Covered up to £500. Think anything up to 2kg is around £12.

It's not been picked up and scanned then, when it has it will show > in Transit > Area Depot > then being delivered.
How many days is it over due Glenn?

It might be worth a try to phone your local sorting office, ask to speak to a Manager. And then ask them to find out where your parcel is in the system.

Strange. That would of been the best option, tracked, covered and guaranteed by 1pm next day.

Posted Sat 12th June. I've been in and spoken with them and they say it has left them on Monday 14th. Today is 10 working days since posted. I've submitted a claim with Royal Mail as today was the earliest day the system would let me.

Sounds like somebody in the system has not scanned the Barcode as they have handled it, it will turn up – keep checking the Ref number every day.
If for some reason it can't be delivered they used to go to a main Depot in Belfast, were the parcel/package is opened and traced to the original sender, happens after 30 days I believe.

Yes Keith. I'm constantly tracking and have just got off the phone to the sorting office. Royal Mail are not classing anything as lost at the moment until the 30 day point. Fingers crossed it turns up
