It was a water controlled by Saffron Walden AC, but I gather it is now a syndicate? Anyone know who's running it or any details at all? Thanks in-advance.

No mate, the old sw pit next to the old Bedford and other drains.
There's a syndicate on there but can't help with info I'm afraid.

Thanks - that's the one, next to the A142 - it sits right next to the Counter Drain, it has reeds all round it. I fished it a few years back when the club had it. I actually drove past it today, saw a couple of bivvies on it. I'll swing by later and just ask the chaps fishing it. Thanks again.

Is this the water with the fish they had a pretty horrific run in with an Otter and recovered? Bit of a free for all. All the big names seem to be having a go on there.

The ski lake is further down the 142 right at the roundabout.
There is still a free for all at the outdoor centre.

Thanks again - yes, Mepal Pit that SWAC had for many years. I ended up chatting to a couple of lads fishing it - not sure I'm too keen on it now, forgot how small it is. Block Fen is further down off the roundabout - interesting to see some new pits have been dug. The pit by the outdoor centre - I was fishing that years ago, it was a bit of a runs water back then. The one that I'd like to fish is the biggest - the trout water that sits parallel to the main road. Seen some big old girls in there. May be a good place to visit on a foggy day
