I've owned the century gear, it's great kit. I had 3 9" singles in standard thickness, 3 x 12" standard for rear rests. never let me down ... I also had 2 rod buzz bar , light, strong .. 3 9" sticks are on here for sale in classifieds. I have bought a titanium digging stick as I'm now fishing a lake that has a tough condensed gravel path round edge so you need to drive in bank stick through concrete basically.... that is from mps highly recommended
only selling century stuff as I got bought a set of fox black alu gear so century has to go ... both good and I prefer century to be fair but want to use my new ones

I've got century chunky sticks and buzz bars. They're pretty good. Light and not easily scratched. Does what it's meant to

Been through Solar, Fox, Jag, Defiant mps, Chub. Some had good and bad points but have been using Century chunky sets for the last 2 years, no plan to change anytime soon. Only downside is initial outlay, but for quality and durability, they do the job well enough to not have to consider them anymore.

I have ordered the 3 rod buzz bars 10 and 11 inch and some 15's in the banksticks..

And therein lies the problem with Carbon. I've had my Neville stainless for 20 years or so.

Can anyone tell me are the bankstick inserts made from carbon or ally? Also do they have a point on the insert too (like cygnet), thanks

What problem with carbon are you referring to mate? I still have some long bespoke banksticks from Steve that are always in my van, and use them if needed, I think they will outlast me! Heavy though..

interestingly I went the opposite way,,,, and have gone back to aluminium from carbon .... its lighter than carbon
( isn't as durable )
but I have a custom digging tool made from titanium from MPS that can get through concrete .... so I just make pilot holes with that and can insert aluminium sticks anywhere on earth besides a granite counter top ( or so the legend goes... )

Hi mate. It's the reliability factor that concerns me re carbon. Most lads I know who have used it have been through several brands and spent a small fortune. Decent stainless whilst heavy should last a lifetime. I've got some dymag sticks and bars which I use sometimes but they won't go into some of the ground that stainless will.

Aah got ya.. Agreed, stainless should outlast pretty much everything, maybe titanium also is worth long-term investment? Does Keith do his gear in Ti?

I bought the century carbon sticks when they first came out, second time using the sticks on a clay banked lake 2 of the 4 points came off and were left in the ground. So had to dig them out, and the glue also came away on the bars, on the centre boss so the carbon just rotated and the alarms would be upside down 🤦🏻♂️... There was no where near enough glue on them, this my have changed now..
I had access to a workshop so I pillar drilled a 2.4mm hole through the carbon and stainless points and all the buzz bar components and glued a 2.4mm bit of welding rod in to mechanically hold the items together as well as some better glue.. They were good after that, and shouldn't have needed doing in the first place... I would never consider buying century carbon sticks or bars again, but am an avid fan of their rods. So nothing against the brand, but the sticks were pathetically put together for the price,
