Hi guys,
After a few years away from fishing I'm finally able to get back in to it.

I used to own the Grey's 7ft stalking rod and couldn't fault it so this is my first thought of what to go for but I was wondering if there are any similar rods you would recommend me going to have a look at?

I'd obviously like to stick with a small 7ft ish rod but can change this preference if needed.
Price wise the cheaper the better but I'm happy to pay around the £100 mark.

Have a look at the sonik xtractor recon 8ft great little rods for the money come in 3 different test curve and pack down to 30 inches nice and compact

I used to own some 6' stalking rods, hardly ever used them so I sold them. Personally, I would opt for a 9' or 10' setup, then you can stalk in the margins or chuck up to 80 yds with them. I realise that you sacrifice a bit with really tight swims, but how often do you fish those swims?

There's plenty of good 9' or 10' rods out there, I bought 3 x 10' Daiwa Black Widow G50's from TFT in the Boxing Day Sales for £76 (£26 each), and they're spot on paired with Okuma Inc 6000's. Caught lots of fish with them from right in the edge up to 60yds.

Thanks for the replies, you've definitely gave me something to think about.

I've had a play about with one of the models of Daiwa retractable and it was pleasantly surprising how it felt.

I'm going to go in to my local store and have a look at the mentioned rods and see how they feel.

ESP stalker, think they do them in 7, 8 and 9ft. I got the 8 footer and it's great.

EDIT: Wouldn't mind betting they are the old drennan series 7 spinning rod blanks.
