As title, wanting to upgrade my shimano xtd 5500 washers, had a look on here and some mixed answers.
Ice washers over carbon washers?
I like the idea of not having to grease them ( ice washers )
Also looking to upgrade my ninja spinning reels.

Ice washers in 5500 xtds is a huge difference/upgrade if you want to speed up the clutch and make it smoother.

I had carbon clutch washers in my old emblems. These were noisy and i prefered the original felt washers.

The clutches on my 14000 ci4s are smooth, responsive and pretty quick. My missus 5500s xtd fitted with ice washers feel nearly the same

If you wanne miss alot drag positions then go for the ice/teflon washer
No idea how tight the carbon ones are, shop here told me to try the ones from Reel Drag'z but i think i just gonne keep the felt ones.

I had carbon washers which were very good in my ci4's . Swapped them for ice washers but found there wasn't much to give in the drag maybe just over 1/4 turn . I also found that they could be a bit snatchy . So I removed them and went back to carbon washers. Where I found 1/2 turn to 3/4 turn depending on which size reel I was using . The carbon to require a little bit of a service every couple of years or so
