Thinking of getting one of these for my new club water. Any one have one and recommend it? I like the compact size and the fact I can get things out of the barrow when on the move.

The handles are crap on them👎 and the thumbscrews ain't much cop either.I had a mate weld some box section with thumbscrews between the handles and put better screws in.I had box section welded in so my bucket can slip in between there and back of barrow.

I hadn't used a barrow in twenty years and back then I had a Prestige carp porter but it had long since been given away then a few years back a couple of waters I joined required the use of a barrow so I bought the fox one, I soon got rid of mine for the same reasons given in post two and went back to a Prestige carp porter.

So you would recommend the Prestige Carp Porter is the way to go?

I've always used Prestige until i changed to the Deluxe Explorer a couple of years ago. Prestige did the job but always needed modding for me, straight handles, blocking the stupid suspension, crap bearings and rubbish wide wheels that don't like mud. The Explorer when loaded properly balances better and pushes easier, however still a couple of mods. The handle screws can work loose but checking alleviates this. You can fix a cross section on the handles or just fix a strap tightly across, this goes some way to stop the handles flexing, and put Redwing in the tyre to stop punctures. The explorer does make you think about loading and what you are carrying due to the lack of side bars, if you take everything including the kitchen sink in 1 trip then maybe this is not the right barrow for you

I use the fox but with prestige handles 😂
Most barrows seem to be made at the same place as the handles etc seem interchangeable

I had a Fox barrow for a few years and it was OK. Switched it for a Porterlite last year and for me the Porter is just all round better quality and value for money. Know enough people though that love their Explorer to say that as with much gear it is down to personal preference and how you use it

I had the fox explorer barrow, was decent for 3 years.. but didnt last..
The tyres rubber is terrible quality mine blew up. Everyone i know who had one on my lake also had tyres explode or burst.
The handles - no matter how much you tighten the thumb screws there is movement, after 3 years the threads had gone on the barrow handles and wouldn't tighten at all. The same happened on one side of the wheel, the thread went where thrums screw goes in.
I bought the explorers deluxe but it had the same thumb screw issues and i sold it after a couple of months and bought a mk8 power barrow.... miles a head in quality.
