Hi folks

After a bit of advice please - I've picked up some of the FS e class 12ft 2.5lb rods and am looking for light (but not tiny) reels to go with it. I initially put my tournies on there but they ruined the lightweight and balanced feel of the rod - for my taste anyway, others may differ.

I've narrowed it down to the above reels (which are both well under 500g), which I know are at very different price points. I had the previous (xtb) versions of the 5500s and loved them so that's my first choice, but keep hearing great things about the Inceptions and the price is excellent.

Any thoughts appreciated 👍🏻

I have the Inceptions on my Barbel Rods, been faultless in the couple of years I've had them

I have both the 5500 Ci4 and the inception 6000 and for the money really can't fault the inception 6000 been very happy with them and yes they have decent line clips on the inception it has 2 of them on the spools

I now have 6 Inceptions .... They are a great reel and gamechanger in terms of size, weight, price and performance ... Shimanos at double the price are not as good in my experience

Got 3 hopefully arriving tomorrow, excited to see what they're like.

To update on this one... the Inceptions arrived yesterday, and first impressions are they are superb for the money. Thanks everyone for the advice 👍🏻

Yeah its a good un that had some nice fish from that swim.
