Free Spirit have discontinued the current E Class rods and are reduced in price.Worth a look.

Yeah, I mentioned it a few weeks ago on here, Johnson Ross had them for about £100 each, but they are double that now so I presume they are the new versions. There will still be some around though.
Alternatively, have a look at the secondhand market, you'll pick decent rods up on there.

Shimano TX2's don't cost the earth and come in a cork handle option.
I've just bought a set of the 13ft Intensity (non-cork) but haven't actually used them yet so can't give a real life, owner review. But for the money (£100 a rod) they appear to be great value and certainly fit the bill for my occasional distance set up.

If you message Free Spirit on Faceache they should be able to tell you if and who has the discontinued stock.
They were pretty helpful when I was looking some old pike rods that were discontinued,which I eventually got.

If you can do without the cork handles then Future Fishing do a set of 3, 12ft Daiwa Powermesh customs in 3.25 for £250. Got a set myself and really liking them.

Daiwa Powermesh Rods are just brilliant rods so underrated
and FAR better than a lot of the more expensive rods mentioned in this thread IMHO
