Hi am looking for a no frills retention weigh sling any advices usual will be greatly appreciated, cheers.

I use a carp sack when needed, never bothered with a retention sling

Sonik SK Tek Sling is a very good one.

they all do the same thing to be honest - just make sure its big enough, and only use it to retain fish for short periods of time (20-30mins max) especially in the height of summer when dissolved oxygen levels are at their lowest.

They are not meant for retaining fish for long periods.

Carp sacks have been banned in a lot of lakes down my way so I had no choice in getting one, for the OP I use a trakker sanctuary v2 retention sling before then I used a fox str camo sling both very very good and down to personal choice

I have a couple of chub ones and the angling intelligence folding one all unused so these stay on the shed for any waters that say a sack is banned
a couple of Aqua sacks again unused but these stay in the pocket of my barrow just in case


Can't remember the last time I felt I had the need to use anything other than the landing net and a weigh sling TBH

I've sacked two fish in my life time, both times for a stunning fish and the situation prevented me from taking self takes.

My wife got me a Pro logic one last month, big enough and seems well made, not had a fish in it yet though . The only thing was that it didn't come with a cord to attach to the bank, so had to get the trakker cord for a fiver.

I had a fox STR, now have a ESP retainer that the other half bought me. Both do the job well, ESP is the full mesh type so possibly allows slightly better water flow. Would happily use either but think the fox would be the one I would buy again, not sure why but I just preferred it.

The trakker and chub always get good reviews too.
