Looking at getting one of these but concerned on the width and before anyone says they are awful I'm looking for one due to age and my body catching up with me as the big 50 is close and need some comforts, at present my Tempest is great but my back and knees are shot and just need something to basically get straight in and out so I'm just after some honest reviews as to go with the XF1 or XF2 compact
I don't own the xf but I got the oz tent for the very same reason as you and if the xf is as good as the oz then you won't be disappointed 👍

My mate has got the XF1 and the large XF2, XF1 he uses for his general fishing couple of days in the UK the XF2 with all the bells and whistles for longer stay fishing holidays abroad.
I have helped him put both of them up which is easy as its the same OZ tent cross frame winning design and the material is very good but the weight of both is ludicrous for me, the XF1 comes in at 21Kg then another 9Kg for accessories ok you can strip it out but not what I call an overnight shelter would be alright if you can pull it straight out the van into the swim, I wouldn't want to have to barrow it any distance unless it was on a power barrow that and the rest of my kit and my lungs would be hanging out of my arse.
I like the RM Bivvys just not the weight unless I was to spend £800 notes on a power barrow but looking at the XF1 setup I know on certain waters we fish he will not be getting it set up in 40% of the swims which would dictate being where you can camp sometimes rather than setup on fish.

Friend of mine had one when they first came out, packed down it was more like a body bag than a bivvy bag and literally needed 2 blokes to carry the thing cos of the size of it, on the plus side it was a fantastic bivvy but he sold it after one trip due to the above problems

I have the xf1 standard and it's a cracking bit of kit ,the only negatives are the pack down size and weight , I ended up purchasing a spare bag for the poles ,groundsheet and overwrap this has help reduce the weight of the main bag.
This bivvy will be for my trips abroad and another water where you can park behind the swims ,wouldnt want to barrow or carry it .Overall quality is excellent the material is superb and puts a lot of other shelters to shame.

Must admit the XF1 is a great bit of kit so spacious but is narrow and I had to buy a new bedchair to fit which actually was a bonus as so comfortable, downside is the weight but you can strip it out, the material is superb too for anyone who wants a bit of comfort on the bank the XF1 is worth it

I've only used it a couple times but I really like it,can get plenty of spare gear stored inside and like the fact you can walk straight in without bending down 👍
