Booked for a week at hengar manor, it has three lakes on site, has anyone been there and can give me some better information than there site gives, average size of carp, low/high stock, cheers.

Yes I can help you..
I used to work there,for a while..now I'm going to tell you the truth..not glossy or bs..
Four waters in total..the one next to the accommodation,is full of small carp,good fun on float of surface,scale patterns are lovely..
Manor pool,had a decent head of silvers,perch and double figure fish,nothing in my time either working there,or fishing it have I seen anything over 20lbs..
Some of the fish have been moved,from accommodation lake to the Manor lake..this is to boost stocks as the originals,have been killed or dmged by the otter which comes up from the camel.
The rectangular lake,lake three has the best sizes,you will notice a small stock type pond by the St Tudy entrance,this also has fish in it,btw,I ran the tackleshop,but its closed,or was when I cycled the trail recently..
Its a peaceful place..evenings esp, or look at three small lakes in Delabole,a few fish in there,hope that helps..

Thank you, my mother in law booked it and it's not really a fishing holiday, but as it has the lakes I thought I might as well take some gear, I think you have saved me from taking too much with me. I will probably go with my 6 foot Nash rod, unhooking mat and travel net rather than my typical set up. And fish the method feeder or surface fish if they are on top.

No problem...in the rectangular lake,...there is a lovely zip linear,with a white mark on the tip of its tail..
Anyway,thats how I'd fish it ,as you describe,in fact on the Manor lake you'll see some beds of reeds,they move in and out of them,stalking is the way to go,
In the middle of the site there is a leat ,when I worked there it had some very big Orf,I don't know if they are still there though.
You will also see four big wind turbines at the Gaia centre,thats nr the famous slate village of Delabole,slate city,go down Pengelly Rd and be amazed at the quarry,....there is a viewing platform,it was once the biggest man made hole in the world,not anymore tho..not far from there is Ferndale fishery, some mega silvers in lake three,and low doubles,nice little place plus its lambing time..😆

Sorry for another question, do you know if any decent perch are present as I might take my light lure gear as well, or any sea areas that might be worth a try. Thanks.

Yes,I have tried lure fishing for them,but best way I found is use a float rod,and prawn hookbaits,torn,prawns..!
Fish the rectangular pool,and the third stage along, plumb it tight and use hook in a loop..
3lb ,12oz,my current pb from there,there's a few over a pound ,but that's the best I've had ,so far..
Sea fishing,off the rocks at Boscastle,under Queens head,watch the wave patterns at all times..
