Was looking at replacing my line on my reels and was just thinking of getting a m8 over and letting him have the line as I only use say 100/130 yards and as he's got smaller spools I could cut off the used line and he will have the line below

Problem is the line below won't be perfect, because it's had line sitting on top of it. And the pressure exerted by any fish. But I guess it depends on how long it's been on the spool for. Best to just have a look I guess. Regarding winding the line on the right way, I guess it's just like winding new line on - wind a bit on, see if it twizzles up, if so, turn the spool upside down. Never tried it so I'd be interested to know how you go on.

if you just spool directly onto his spool the line will be reversed and the line that will be at the top of his spool to use will be the line the was at the bottom of your spool unused.
