Thinking about getting a 6ft carp rod as a stalking rod or just to take with me when I go for a walk down the local canal. Does anyone have one? Are they worth getting? Been looking at the nash dwarf and the sonik one not sure what it's called. Think they are between £50-£60. Or if there is anymore people can recommend. Cheers 👍🏽

I have a 6ft 3lb scope. It's my least used rod in all fairness, handy as anything due to its size packed down but if I'm planning on fishing I'd rather take my 10fters.
3lb on such a short rod is very stiff, no feel through the rod so if you aren't fishing hook and hold I'd go for something softer.
I've used mine for float fishing recently on a runs water and had a great time, it's not what it's designed for but having a bucket, small rod and small net is great for mobility.

FOX did or may still do a 6ft stalker, no rings, line goes through centre of the blank, ive had some fun with that over the yrs.

The dwarf I was looking at was the 6ft 2lb one, I did think that the 3lber would be abit stiff. I'm not sure the sonik comes in 2lb but will have a look. There's a lot of carp in the canal close to me and think one of these would be perfect to just have a walk down flicking bread or dog biscuit out in the summer. And don't like leaving gear in my van but could easily hide one of these out the way so doesn't get nicked

The 6ft xtractor only comes in 3llb take a look at the xtractor reacon 8ft 2.5 might be more versatile I wouldn't bother with Nash rods

I've had bad times with dwarfs in 9ft to with snapping tips but they were first gen so not sure if they fixed this. The scope is a nice rod but wasn't worth the £100+ price tag.

A lot of people rate them I think nash gear is to expensive overpriced there charging top end prices for low quality gear sonik xtractor are a cheap rod that's the truth but at the right price

And the rest £150 to £200 there alarms and beds have good reviews and the price is ok

I have both the 6ft 3lb sonik xtractor and 8ft xtractor recon 2.5lb both nice rods for the price you pay for them and their nice to play fish on yes the 6ft 3lb is a little stiffer but still bends through nicely and both pack down to the same size

I think I will go for the sonik, the biggest fish in the canal is probably mid 20s at a guess so they should do the job

I've got the 6ft wychwood extricator. Very reasonably priced and a lovely little rod. Lots of choice for a short stalking rod.

I should have said I have the xtractor 6fts a pair I use for canal but if I was buying again I would get the reacon 2.5 as carpy has done I think they are more versatile tbh like canal small pond floater fishing pike even the river for barbels and boat fishing

My Scope sawn off i'm sure cost me £100-120, the 9-10ft are what you're thinking of.
