Looking for recommendations guys for distance fishing 13lb Exocet or 10lb syncro with shockleaders. I have used the Exocet before but not the syncro.

I have used both and prefer the Exocet. Don't ask me why, I guess it is just a confidence thing.

I think there hard to compare I tried both. One casts really well ( excocet ) but was poor for abrasion. Syncro is a brilliant reliable line but doesn't cast as well.
So both have advantages depending on your current need.

That's interesting that you say that. For level line distance casting most people are recommending the syncro in 15lb 0.37mm with no leader. I have not tried the syncro but thought the 10lb with a shock leader would cast well as it's roughly the same diameter as the Exocet.

It's brilliant to cast don't get me wrong. But excocet cast Better. More supple line so it felt smoother
I use 15lb syncro and wouldn't use any time else personally. Before that technium black in 12lb

I use that combo atm, Exoccet for long casts with shock and synchro for the rest, i second that.
One casts brilliant the other one is a great all rounder.

I've used both and to be honest can't really fault either. I only slightly favour the exocet for it's diameter to strength, even at top end at 23lb it's only . 40

Never look at line breaking strains always go off diameter. I highly doubt 23lb Exocet is a stronger line than 18lb syncro (both .40mm) they might have pros and cons over each other as in one might have better abrasion resistance, one might sink better, one might cast better etc.
For out and out strength though I bet they are both very similar. Why do companies do this does anyone know? So .40mm syncro is 18lb, .40mm Exocet 23lb, .40mm subline is 15lb the list goes on. I've never understood it

Used both, excellent lines, as the other poster has said look at line diameters.

I might be remembering it completely wrong, I think I remember one of the companies saying they under sell the line as such, so the 15lb would break at 18lb, just to be sure that they don't get complaints for weak lines.

I agree it's crazy how they do it,ESP Syncro in 18lb broke at over 21lb on the tacklebox line test.They did not test the heavier exocet but the 18lb broke at 16lb,so if going by bs not diameter the ESP is stronger by quite a bit but it's obviously thicker diameter

Exocet is also pre-stretched.
