git my 5500 xtd up for sake,fancy a chang away from shimano, what other brand equivalent are there in roughly the same size and budget. I've looked at emblem 35 which I cant pick up for £116 each,
what else is there in that price bracket ,size etc

Daiwa Emblem SCW 35 are bigger reel than the Ultegra 5500 size reel . What about Daiwa Emcast 25A £80 odd each or Okuma inception inc 6000 parkfield are doing them for £150 for 3 reels seem to get great reviews on here are are aorund the same size as the ultegra 5500 size just ordered 3 myself to try out .

The crosscast 35 is basically the same reel as the emblem and can be picked up for around 70 squids each, I would find the balance weight for your rod first tho
Tie a bag or container of some sort on to your rear seat and add sugar or rice until you rod is perfectly balanced and weight the bag, get a reel that's weight is similar in weight or slightly less to account from the weight of the line

Oluma 6000 is a great reel but a little smaller than the XTD's .... Fox FX9s are nice (and a better reel imo) alternative
