Evening guys,
I am imaging a very low number of replies to this if any, but I was hoping for just a glimmer of information regarding Frensham little pond. All I want to know is how many carp are left in there, I'm not too worried about weights, but I'm really interested in the old Leney stock in there.

In April 2013, the Frensham Little Pond bailiff team confirmed that there are 4-5 of the original Leney Carp, with one fish around the 40lb mark and the others between 27 – 35lb.
How many of those 4-5 leneys are still alive, 8 years on, is anyone's guess

Thanks for your reply mate. I know it's low stock, but you can never be sure if a lot of it is people trying to keep new people from fishing it! Would love to know a couple of them Leneys were still going

From what I have read in recent years they have now all sadly passed. There has always been a lot of misinformation about the place though....if there is just one of those Lenexa left then it is worth giving it a go.

This is it mate. Unfortunately I don't have loads of time at the moment with 2 kids both under 3 and a pub to run, if I knew there was one definitely left it would be worth blanking with the little time that I have 😂

Blimey, 25 years ago they'd have you believe you'd get your car torched if you hooked a tench at Frensham. Land a carp as an outsider and I think the penalty was a curse on your family for seven generations. Pets included.
I walked round the ponds a few times in the 90s. Some right grumpy buggers fishing it then. Taking things far too seriously. If it's still like that, find somewhere else with decent company, there's more to fishing than old carp.

Yeah I completely agree mate. From speaking to people it's not as bad as that anymore. Truthfully my main reason for wanting to fish them is because it simply looks stunning. I am however very aware that I am on limited time, and as much as I don't mind a challenge, I also don't want to be fishing for 2 or 3 fish a season lol

There is still a decent stocking of carp In there , however It is thought that the Leneys are now all dead. If it's Leneys that you are after why not try waggoners wells.
I've heard so much bad press about the lakes at frensham Including damaged cars etc that I would never consider fishing it , however I have walked around the place a few times , it's a nice looking water but it's NOT easy , in fact I would go as saying it's very hard due to the constant pressure it gets.
Luckily there are plenty more lakes in the area. The big lake at frensham does not get fished too hard , but again it's not a runs water it's hard.

Thanks for this mate, it seems very hush hush but one day I may give it a go! Frensham itself is beautiful to be fair, I love walking the kids round there. Once I free up some more time it may he worth a go, but for one overnighter every couple of weeks and the odd weekend, I'm not sure it's the one right now 😂😂

I think I may spend a few days here in the summer just enjoying some time for the other species in there. That should give me an idea as to how often carp are visible, if many / any get caught etc

I used to walk around here every week (lived in Farnham), and to be honest - the public are a nightmare.
In the summer it gets absolutely rammed with people, it's a beautiful lake - but if you do fish it, stay the hell away from it at weekends and bank holdays

Yeah this has been one of my issues with it. I walk round it with the family myself, I've tried looking then, for areas where the public tend not to go. And I've not really found much, possibly one little area, but I doubt I'll be the only person looking for that too
