Just wondering who re-uses their pop up baits?
I'm just about to try re-using a number of used 16mm cork ball pop ups by soaking them for a couple of weeks in a red robin and tuna bait soak and re-coating them in a crushed (to powder) Haiths Red Robin Pellet and crayfish stick mix.
It's a bit of an experiment really but I was wondering if anyone has tried this before?
TIA

They're great for the hard coating technique as described by Mark Casper on here, try looking on the specialised hookbaits thread back around last spring, he gave a nice tip on hard coating baits, it really does work phenomenally well, you're imagination is your only limit with the powders and liquids used. Very easy to do as well and after doing tank tests it's amazing how long the baits are throwing off particles and attraction up & down through the water column.

I just make enough so that you don't have to re-use them, not exactly a lot of paste goes into a corkball bait, maybe 25p if you use top money ingredients.

Most of the cost is down to the actual labour time producing them.
Like you I like making 50 to 100 corkball hookbaits per session, to keep me out for a while.
Still need a good quality corkball, and ingredients that stay around it.

I mesh mine in tights and then after use dry them out and glug in a liquid fish/oil/salt combination. I keep the reused ones in a separate pot to the new fresh ones. The recycled ones are good for runs waters or quick sessions, feels bad using a cork ball for a 10 hour overnighter and then binning it

Some really good points from everyone here on this, thank you gents. I'm using corus red robin and tuna liquid additive to soak into some ub baits used corkballs, which have been soaking for three days now, tomorrow I'm going to transfer them into a bag of crushed haiths red robin pellets, crayfish meal with a dab of salt which smells amazing.
I'm hoping that all the liquid that these corkballs have been soaking in will get locked in with the outer coating and release their food trail into the water column for some time.
I'm going to a hard large mere over Easter so hoping these work for me, although I've never had a fish off the place yet.
Really appreciate your input everyone.

Exactly the same for me. Mesh them in pair of tights. Does a few things
If birds bite it the paste stays on so your still fishing
Once youv used them they swell up, hang up rig in car or put in a pot on the dashboard open and after few days they shrink back to normal size to be re used.
Iv caught some decent fish on reused ones

Just a point to remember if you glug them too much they may not float
