Morning All,
Booked up for a week in a caravan at Cotswold Hobourne later this year and just wondered if anyone had any information on the lakes on the caravan park.
The caravan is on Mallard but also interested in the main lake with the pedalos on.
Any information would be much appreciated, pm if prefered.

Yeah, been a few times, but never on Mallard. If Mallard is anything like Kingfisher, there's plenty of fish to be had. Me and my lad had a few out to mid doubles, a few tench as well. Tactics wise, nothing special from memory (it was a few years ago when we fished Kingfisher), think we had them on hair rigged Dynamite Robin Red Pellets. I'm sure boilies will be OK.
Went last year and had a lodge by the big lake. Now that's a different ball game. Quite tricky, very weedy, there's also a lot of the people who have nearby lodges who get to the best swims. You can only fish a portion of it as it is roped off. The fish run big in there, over 30 and maybe over 40. Can't give you any advice on how to catch on that one as we didn't catch. Find your spots in the weed though. Recently saw a video of the main lake being netted to see what the stock levels are, see if you can find it online. If you can't, I'll have a look for you.
Out and about in that area the fishing is also good, there's Whelford Pools (https://thecarpswolds.co.uk/) and Horcott Lakes to name but a few. My lad had a mid 20 from Whelford last year, and over the years, we've had a few from Horcott.

The swims near the rope on the lodge side were never available. So I guess you would assume they are the best swims. When it was calm, you could see fish on the surface in these swims in amongst the weed.

Had fish to mid thirties a few years ago. end of September, used to fish first to last light. Set up far side opposite the chalets next to the rope, through a unhooking mat over the sign saying no fishing past this point

Fished alongside the dividing rope and a couple of rods in the trees past the sign but sat on the allowed side as the chalet owners hate to see you catching and watch you like hawks. Monday to Friday they seemed to go home.
The margins are very shallow, was casting towards the lamp post and catapulting boilies.
