evening all
looking for a new venue
either day ticket ,club or syndicate

in the triangle between Ely,Cambs and Newmarket

not overly worried about monsters 20s plenty

The venue itself is more important even if its only 2 or 3 acres

I would rather spend a day somewhere quiet and pictresque
than a lake with an open expanse of featureless water like a gravel pit !
cost wise for the right place not overly worried
not to hard as I am teaching a friend to fish at the moment
this area is the mid way point between us , it is an area I know nothing about

bit to commercial pressured for me
I know nothing about Soham bypass lake looks interesting

St ives lakes . Acres of water , and a chance of some peace and quite. Woolpack in godmanchester , don't know what the waiting list is but some special fish in there . Loads of good waters if you get your name down

Fen drayton also if you are looking for a challenege. Don't know the crack with Ron Middletons old place ashmire in Earith . I know it had a re stocking . But that's a nice lake also

If ashmire had a depth of water in front of the long Chuck swim I think it was called what a lake it would be.

All in the past
These are outside of the area
More likely to head further the other way towards bury st Ed's

Are you thinking of Fenland Fisheries?
Earith Carp lakes are syndicate/member on the other side of the Fen Drove just up the road from Ashmire, Ron Middleton's fishery

Yes Ron's lake knew him through my uncle
I know there's lots of lakes in the area some I have fished some I have visited
At the moment I'm not looking to put in the time weekends that these places deserve or need

I know of the wool pack as well but this also out of the area I am looking for

But still thank all in put is good input !

You have hasse fen soham way . That's one of the lords lakes I think.

West stow I fished many many years ago !
I do not know the nunnery other than by word of mouth

Most of the venues so far are great venues but far to large for what I have in mind

I'm really looking for smaller waters like rougham bury st Ed's or the by pass has my interest

Anything along those lines would be great

Hawstead lakes is a small lake just outside Bury St Edmunds, fish up to 30lbs with a few 20s.
Soham By Pass is probably the best bet Newmarket - Ely direction.
Norton Lakes near Elmswell, plenty of fish from low doubles to low 30s.

i know Hawstead and Norton but as out side the area hadnt considered them
but i shall do for myself later rather than for when helping my mate to learn

if i hadn't explained that the reason for the triangle this is the half way point between us
