I want to make my own wafter hookbaits and looking for a little advice.

Is it appropriate to take the forum BM1 recipe, add cork dust and any tweaks and roll it up, or am I completely on the wrong track!

I'm preferring cork dust and some egg albumin added to my boilie mix to prepare wafters. The amount of cork dust depends on the density of your mix and the quality of the cork dust.

a ratio of about 1 in 4 (cork dust to base mix) gives good results but trial it with the base mix your using.

Use a hardening additive - egg albumen etc and dry them out well before coating them in glycerine a couple of times to stop them going off. You can find an article by Ken on the haiths site about how this preserves the boilies.

1-4??

Ive been making my own cork dust wafters for over 10 years. I use 50% base mix to 50% corkdust, then on top 2 teaspoons egg albumin per egg.. - the baits float on their own but sink with the weight of the hook. The hook sits flat on the bottom with the bait hovering above it on either the hair or swivel if using D rig.

1-4 would sink like a brick but at least hold a bit of buoyancy to counter weight of the hook.

Clover do you freeze your wafters or air dry and leave them in a pot?
