I've just got a ticket confirmed for a new syndicate, I have been using DNA s7 ready made with success but I want to have a go at rolling my own but also add a few extras. I was thinking of adding garlic powder, betaine and maybe some cayenne or some sort of spice. I haven't rolled baits for about 15 years so just wanted to see what opinions would be given to this idea.

I wouldn't bother adding any spices to it as there is already 7 spices in there, hence the name

Fair point. Didn't know if a bit of extra spice would be an edge. What sort of quantities would you reccomend. I've read 20g garlic powder and 5g betaine powder. Does that sound about right?

Doesn't need anything brilliant as it is. Definitely no spices it's got 7 different ones in it. If you want to change anything change the flavour label. Maybe cranberry or peach melba

If you are not sure what you are doing I would ring DNA and I am sure they would be more than happy to help. They know exactly what goes in the mix and what would be the best additions or not, key being, not

That's a good shout. DNA are a good company and I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you out with good ideas for a personalised base mix

I have seen a lot of comments about changing the peach for plum. Be very interesting to see how it changes it.

JB plum would be good. Think it has orange eo in it too. I did look at buying the basemix but £6 a kilo was a bit much for a basemix I can knock up for £3.

Seeing as the S7 is made up with the base mix and separate additional liquid food you'd be hard pushed to improve the combination that DNA have produced , I don't know how you could change the flavour of the bait as it's already included in the liquid food , maybe use it at a lower dose to produce a longer lasting bait ?
Maybe try mixing liquid foods up from DNA

Got onto DNA and according to them the fruit flavours they add are separate to the liquid food. I completely agree with if it ain't broke don't fix it but you could say the same with hemp and other particles. They work on there own so what's the point in adding extras

I don't think you understand , the S7 boilies are made up of the S7 base mix and the matching liquid food which contains peach and orange flavour within it
Are you sure?
