Have a look at the korum Zelos 4000 £45 from bobco tackle has quick drag , folding handle great little reel for the money have one on my 8ft Sonik xtractor recon rod

I'd say the emcast 25A would be bit big that's more like a mini big pit size and not seen the size of the inception 6000 size reel they seem to be out of stock everywhere at the moment

I have a 6ft scope and wouldn't want my inceptions on it. I currently have an SS2600 and it feels like a much better balanced setup. The Okumas in my opinion are too big for anything below 9ft

I use my shimano bait runners 4000 on mine very light

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, I'm selling an SS850 which will be a good match, it's in classifieds if you're interested in ‘cult' reels.

Have you tried a centrepin?

I typically use a pin on my 10' stalking rod, but was going to go for a fixed spool on the shorter rod...

Might end up sticking the pin on it though!

I actually missed the 6' bit, I don't like pins on really short rods for carp tbh
