Have a look at the sonik xtractor 6ft 3lb cracking little rod for the money at £49.99 packs down to around 30 inches

Your right,as my mate Will,has had several 40s on his..he loves it ,in fact his set up now is two main 12fters,and the stalker,catches from the most unibtrusive places..with that rod..
