Where do I start, kys: you may or may not have noticed, there is a design change with the newer Spomb whereby the stem that you attach your line to, you can slide the slider thingy up and change to a larger or smaller one as needs be, good idea, no? Wait for it.. well, it's Fox upto their usual s-hit, it snaps like a snappy thing, or just undoes itself sending your spomb stratospheric...slow hand clap ✋✋✋✋✋

Unfortunately the stem that I had left fell out of my pocket, so I can't get a replacement. I'm quite angry 🤬
Think I've gotten to the end of the road with these baiting contraptions, something like the old Korda spod or similar is the way to go, far simpler with less things to break or go wrong.

Doesn't seem to be mentioned on their website that that is a thing. Cant see how that would ever be quicker than looping it on anyway

I might have this wrong, didn't Fox buy out Spomb? Can't get hold of the old ones now unfortunately, not to say they didn't have their problems.

It's definitely changed. The old stem never had a sleeve or you could call it a collar. Although it looks similar to the new one, it was all part of the molding and solid. I can't remember where I saw or heard it mentioned about the interchangeability because of the newer design, could just be a haphazard find by someone.
The way the ones you buy now have a stem/collar which attaches to the main body with a claw like fitting which is all part of the plastic stem, it snaps at the claw part.

Didn't even know this one existed. Have a few of the old ones though so not fussed. You can probably still get the knock off of the old one on eBay too if that way inclined. By the number you seem to break TC it might be an idea to go down the multiple cheap knock off route

I've not seen one of these new X Spombs but the first picture clearly shows a swivel on the end. If it's changed then they have cocked up the advertising photo by using an old generic one.
