I think its up to whoever controls the marina. I know of one where the close season does not apply.

I believe it depends on the nature of said marina. If there is only one entrance off the river, the close season is decided on the owners discretion.
If there is an entrance and an exit, the close season applies automatically.

Just one entrance for arriving and leaving the marina. So no flow, as such through it. The owners said carry on fishing if you want to, so I may well.

I think any river marina should be treated as part of the river (bed) so to speak, but that's just me really..

I thought that if it was connected to the river then the close season applies. If it was a marina on a canal then it there is no close season.
This 'split' close season is rubbish, can fish canals and stillwaters, but not rivers.

It's connected to a man made “navigation” channel that leads to the river. Just heard from owners that they do allow fishing and the EA have told them it's allowed, but only in the Marina and not in the Navigation stretch and obviously not in the main river.
