I'm looking at the Okuma Dynadrag reels to pair with some sonik xtractor recon 8ft rods. I can't decide between the 4000 and 6000 size. None local to me so can't have a look and no photos online showing the actual size. Anyone use them or similar Okuma reels?

Not okuma reels but have a look at the Korum Zelos 4000 reels they would pair up great £45 each from bobco tackle I have one on my 8ft xtractor recon 8ft rod

Took my Okuma Inc 6000's out piking for the first time on Saturday, was very impressed with the quality and performance. Although they were on my 11ft pike rods I do own a set of 8ft recons and think they'll balance very well with the soniks

Plenty of info regarding spool capacity and reel weights online which should give you a good idea of size and feel of both.
Do some research and compare the capacities, weights, etc to any reels you already have.
That way you will end up with reels that are suitable for your needs and preferences not what might suit someone else.

What a brilliant idea, I'd have never thought to do an internet search 🙄 Spools are different depths so capacity is meaning less, bodies made from different materials so weight is meaning less. The opinion of someone who has had them in their hand is very useful.

Nice attitude.
1. Capacity is very important if you run out of it.
2. Reel weight makes a difference to the feel of a rod and opinions can vary on what feels right.
What I would prefer might not feel right to you, so if you can try your rods with your existing or borrowed reels with a comparable weight to the ones you are considering, it might help you make a choice.
