I'd like to ditch the brolly for quick nights when we can get back out, anyone got clever or better ways of setting one up over a bed chair ideally with 2 short storm poles?

By the time you've pissed about with it your better off taking a brolly, or if it weight you really want to save aswell as time, get a Dutch bivvy bag, even comes with a mossy bit built in.

This is what I do,...I use a 7ft by 8ft army dpm tarp..
4 pegs,your choice..
Paracord,various lengths
Morakniv,to cut cordage or extra pegs..
Two walking pole,or Hutchinson front brolly poles..
For bedchair I use the standard lean to,with drip line porch
Day sessions,as above but plow point off of trees or one of the poles..
You might want to invest in some line locks and green fluro,night cordage,for obvious reasons..
I can get everything in a 40 litre rucksack, depending on where I go,determines the stove i take,ie stick,meths...or otherdont forget the Sawyer mini...
I started mixing both up a long time ago,carping,bushraft,they mesh really well...if you wannabe go uber light,look at the Alpkit bivi bag or British Army goretex.
Got into small stream Tenkara ,so could fit the lot into a 38 litre day pack as well..
Apart from a couple places I know,when Doris let's us out to play again,from the sheep pens,most lakes will be rammed...so my plan is to fish but stay right away from frustrated carpers

I looked into this and experimented at length, for the faff that it is and if you need to move in the night it's easier just to take a brolly, or kip under the sky if it's not raining.

Cheers guys issue with a brolly is carrying it. Often just strap 2 rods and a net together a brolly means you need a quiver and makes it all more cumbersome. Trying to get down to by Bergen, jrc stealth with a jungle bag on and 2 rods and a net, basha is just needed if it rains obviously otherwise I chuck some mozi mesh over the bed

That's what I thought,carrying the brolly..see,one place I go sometimes,is across fields, marshbeds,dodging cattle,wild horses..so I keep everything minimal..
Me..two rods,landing net=Nash two rod sling
Bedchair
40 litre Rucker,inside..=Basha,Snugpack jb,tackle pouch,,tiny..mini trangia,bit of bait..roll up unhooking mat..
If you use the basha as a folded poncho when it rains,you literally set up under it,if not raining,I just put it over bedchair ,I'm not fussed..lol
Carry a cozy head net,and small thermals,cos those jungle bags will not keep you mega warm,you'll survive tho,but its fishing ,not camping clamping..
My way,turn up late,leave first thing,no trace,gone...!!

In the past I'd just stick the rucksack under the bed and pull the gortex cover over my head but the gears so heavy on the way back and it's a right pain drying it out when it's wet through 😂
Using a water bladder has been a good move from a space and comfort perspective

Have a quick look at the DD,A frame tent,two walking poles,or basha poles,it has the side opening as well,short vid on it on YouTube, its something I may look into getting myself,for stealth camping,and fits in a Brompton borough bag no doubt...👍
