Bought my Mk 6 24v in late 17.
The 2 x Yuasa REC14-12, 12v 14Ah that came with it are now in excess of 3 years and I have noticed they are running flat quickly. Possibly due to not regularly recharging.
Just wondering how others have got on with their Power Porter batteries, how long have you had out of them before you changed them?
Looking at a new pair on Ebay just under £70.

Buy new ones. 3 years sounds okay when not properly maintained. Aliexpress has them too. Not a big difference in price though.

You will be hard pressed to find much better than Yuasa.
Sounds like you know why they have failed though.
The depth of discharge ( how far you travel ) will have a big effect on the number of charge/ discharge cycles that you can expect, also whether the batteries have been recharged after use or allowed to sit in a partial discharged state. The latter will probably have the biggest detrimental effect as you surmised
Time has little effect in comparison.
