Please don't turn this thread into opinions about deepers!
After struggling on this water, and with us only being allowed to fish days only I decided to use a deep pat to try and locate fish. I have found groups of fish, but would like to know how the fish size work. On my deeper chirp, you can set it to only show large, large and medium and large medium and small size to fish. Was wondering if any if you knew weather I would need to have it set to find just large fish to just find carp. Will a 2lb be classed as medium, or small?

I'm in the same boat mate, bought one to try out.
Would suggest the following:
- Turn off the fish icons and ‘read' the arches, the fish icons can be misleading
- Long deep arches are usually bigger fish, whilst small ones will be small/single colour ones
- YouTube reading sonar & watch the videos, some really interesting items there, well worth the time
- When you find some fish, cast back over the top and see if you get the same readings
Should be enough to get you started

Turn off the fish icons. They are fanciful and will let you know about all sorts of stuff hanging in the water column the vast majority of which aren't fish at all. It isn't a just turn on and spot the fish device. In shallow waters it is a waste of time looking for fish most of the time anyway.
You should learn how to read the raw data - it will tell you loads more than just looking for the software's opinion on whether something is a fish or not.
Go to YouTube. Search for Mike Smedley and watch his video series "Sonar for Dummies". You will learn a lot.

Turn off the fish finder mate I don't use line for a fish finder I just use it for feature and depth finder
