Hi Gents, I am after a little help for a 1 egg pop up mix as for the life of me I have forgotten the dosage quantitates (its my age) all that I vagally remember that the squid dossage was a lot for a 1 egg mix around 20mm but maybe a tad more the N Burtic around 3 drops, if any of you guys would point me in the right direction this would be most grateful PM if need by. many thanks in advance gents

It definitely wouldn't have been 20ml unless the flavour you are using was weak as piss. I make three different pop ups that I use and give to friends. I'm putting 5-6ml in a one egg mix and they stink.

Way back in the early 90's I was using the original at 7ml per 1egg mix, very effective it was too.

I definitely remember Frank Warwick using Solar S&O in large amounts, certainly 20ml. I emailed Solar and 5ml/ egg was suggested

You're right. I think some recipes also had scopex or Esterblend 12 with the S&O also (although at lower levels)

The squid flavour has a very high alkaline pH,so why would we neutralize its pH by adding butyric acid? (i'm interested in the reason why)

I'm totally convinced it's the ph of S&O that makes it so effective, it certainly ain't the smell

The blends that i knew of were around 7mil squid to 2mil esterblend 12, and 10mil squid to 10mil scopex along with n-butyric .
As a flavour on its own it was frequently used at 20mil per egg for hookbaits with a lot of success it did catch at higher levels but with no significant increase in catch rate so wasn't deemed cost effective
On some waters it would completely outfish the lower ph acidic flavours

My friend used to use a whole bottle of S&O in a 50ltr bucket of spot mix
