Just been watching the french public lake episode of thinking tackle. Series 3 episode 1 i think. Noticed when they showed one of the rigs being used. Appears to be a curve shank, doctored slightly to increase the angle, but with a beaked point. Anyone heard anything about these? Have been expecting it with the popularity of the ronnie rig to be honest, but wasnt expecting it to take this long

Not 100% but I think I heard danny say on one of the videos that they were not happy with it so probably not coming out...

Youre right mate. Just got to that bit in the video. Should have waited before asking. He doesnt go into why he doesnt like them enough to go into production though, but seems to be happy enough using them

I remember that.
It makes you think why there aren't more beak point curved shanks about. We have the Krank but you'd think there is scope for a longer shanked curve with a slightly beaked point that doesn't close the gape too much. There must be a reason for it.

I read the blurb for the next masterclass (8 I think) and it mentions a new hook pattern being unveiled. I would assume it is the one from the French TT episode but who knows, that reminded me of the Gardner rigga crv with a beaked point. It'll be online from the 18th.

Its almost like a bent hook that used to get banned!
