Anyone fished or know any information about the canal near meadowhall?

I saw one of their videos on YouTube before Christmas but wasn't a very long one. I've read on a few other sites that there are carp to at least high 20s, heard it's abit sketchy on a night due to the people in the area. Not been down but wouldn't mind giving the canal carping a go, something abit different.

I've spent a lot of time on that canal being where I learnt to float fish as a boy to present days targeting the special carp that can be found from Rotherham all the way to Sheffield. I'm going to put a lot of time in this year targeting a different section to previous years and always love to see other anglers down there especially over night it's a shame too many miss out on good fishing on the doorstep because they are put off by untrue exaggerated stories.

I walked it the other day for the first time and there was a few lads out, I have to say there were some proper “CARPY” spots!! I didn't see anything but going to walk it a lot more maybe bait a few spots aswell and give it a go 👍🏽

I have read a few things online that say it's free fishing aswell, is this true?

It's free, on doorstep, carp up to 30lb, any serious prebaiting will get worthy results

I'm going to give it a go on monday, there was a few people fishing between the bigger locks the other day. There was also a lad abit further down just after a bridge but just before a dock type thing, not as far down as Victoria quays, not sure if you know where I mean. Do you know of any decent spots? Or could they be anywhere?

First canal carp today 👍🏽 16lb10oz! Buzzing with that, seen a couple a lot bigger! Hopefully more to come.
