I'm in the market for a new back-up net and wondered what your recommendations would be for one under £50? I've seen the saber & sonik s1 for as little as £22 new. Are they any good or are there any better ones around for value for money?

Yep Sonik landing nets are good quality for the money that's all I use with the 2 peice handles

Got to second the sonik net, good bit of kit. Plenty of similar ones on the market for the same price aswell. Me mates got a JRC one Think i paid around £40 for it.

I've got the Sonik with the 2 piece handle - good bit of kit and handled a 75lb leather in France no problem!

For the money I think it's one of the best nets out there - got some fancy nets myself and the JRC one takes some beating. Very stiff and in no way floppy like some nets are, plus it's exceedingly light.

don't look at the Dwarf net, second time out the spreader block broke, replaced it with a Sonik and a 2 peace handle, still going strong.

I think it was the one previous to the one I linked to. I think they may well be the exact same net with a cosmetic difference. Really good net for the money. I'd rate as good as anything weight and stiffness wise, and I think I can say that with some confidence as I've got a Dymag 42" stalker net and the Terry Hearn net and looking at most of what's out there testing them in the shops 👍

Ordered a Sonik S1 Monday, arrived today and I'm well impressed for £26 posted. Great service from Gerrys in Morecambe too!
