just seen on Facebook that some of their staff have tested positive for covid 19 so they won't be opening untill Monday the 4th due to self isolating etc they said they would be dispatching orders ASAP after that date...thought I would mention it incase anyone isn't on Facebook and have place an order with them.

I do wonder if anglers are their own worst enemy with Covid - fished three carp waters in the last couple of weeks - witnessed zero social distancing, people handling gates/locks with no hand sanitising before or after - even people from different households sitting in each others bivvies and today there were at least two chaps on the lake who'd driven 70 miles to fish the water...

I guess it depends on the waters. One of my waters has bottles of disinfectant tied to each gate. It's not an option you are required to spray the locks and handles before and after use.
Another of my waters requires you to have a sanitiser, I've been asked by the bailiff to show him.
Both clubs have locked the clubhouses and discontinued freezer use. I think it's still the case that guest tickets are banned on all my waters.

I tested positive on the 21st December after feeling unwell at work and today found out my mom is positive too she's 81 blind & deaf and still going round doing stuff she's a strong one.
Back to the fishing I always have carried a bottle or 2 of sanitizer around with me for years now especially cooking on bank all time with all the rats and other vermin about,for a small price to pay for a bottle it's nothing really is it to pop one or even the alcohol wipes in bag as well better to have than not at all.
And I'm still isolating at home bored and trying to keep busy and keep an eye on her too as I live with her.

Hope you both make a quick and full recovery. I've got one friend who's recently spent several days on oxygen before being discharged and my bridesmaids partner was discharged from hospital yesterday. Thankfully both seem to have turned the corner with it. It's a horrible illness for some. Fingers crossed for the Johnny Ross staff that they are young and fit enough to shake it off.
Saw this morning that as many as 22 million older or vulnerable people could be vaccinated by April. So let's all hope for a more normal summer.

Thanks mate my fiancée was tested last week along with her 2 daughters who are 17 & 21,she also has to be extra careful as she comes under the bame groups and also her mom is bed bound and she does a lot of the caring for her even tho she has a big big family.
I agree it's a horrible disease and do many people have been less unfortunate even if they were for. & healthy too I just hope my mom comes through this basically unscathed,strange thing is my brother who I also live with his test was negative but I think we will get tested again towards end of the week he wants to go out and do some tiddler bashing me I just want to be out on the bank wether it's the canal or my local lake.

It is a strange one that, it happened to my mate. He and his mrs both tested positive but there 2 kids 11 and 17 tested negative, both recovered well with even showing any symptoms.

All the staff in my local pub have all gone done with it, mustve caught it just before lockdown/tier 4.
The PCR test for covid is inaccurate at best..hence why diffreing false and negative results...
How do I know this?
This is because I am a close friend of a individual who worked on setting up a testing station in the southwest,and still works at another covid point..in the southwest,...he ,has told me that his job is under threat if the public really knew how many false ,negatives and positives are recorded..
I am just passing this on,because as he told me ,the government take these figures to the stats centres...make of this what you will..

A bit meaningless really other than to indicate lots of people have Covid. The accuracy of these tests likely pales into insignificance when you consider the likely numbers who have it who haven't been tested either with or without symptoms.

Very interesting,...like my friend told me ,question the figures that you are told....
I can only pass on what I have been told ,by someone who is at the test points,not the media....but someone there,seeing and engaging at first hand
..someone with no political agenda,other than ask a question, whilst remaining anonymous,...an individual, who is able to question,and evaluate..

As for Govt Stats and figures,they really get my goat
Deaths within 28 days of a positive test....come off it...proves diddly. More testing means more results..pos or not. We only see one side of this. Need to see Pos Vs Neg results to see the real trend..Not disputing more are succuming.... its nothing but negativity and doom on the media.

Anyone doubting the figures just needs to go to a hospital, see how many people are in, and see how many staff are now contracting it that didn't first time around.
It doesn't seem as fatal this time around (they know how to treat it, and the “lowest hanging fruit” have already dies, but another lockdown is around the corner. Who's to blame?
The people that go round friends houses/refuse to wear masks........

Lately I feel like I'm the only one taking any precautions. Seems like social distancing, mask wearing, hand sanitising, not going into people's homes etc has gone out of the window for most. I wonder if people think there's no need to worry anymore as the vaccine is coming. But they should worry, we had a family friend die at 5 o'clock this evening.

I get the same feeling, I live in the south west (tier 2) my neighbour, her husband and her 3 children drove through the night on the 21st to London (tier 4) so they wouldn't get caught and see her sister for Xmas they then drove back down on the 23rd at about 2am again so they wouldn't get caught they did a 500mile round trip and never got caught but makes you think how seriously people are actually taking this because she keeps bragging about it like it's something to be proud of on social media
