In the back of a standard wheelbase caddy with standard bulkhead? 12's fit easy enough on the diagonal, think an extra half a foot might be a big ask.

Maybe a daft idea but before you invest in a new set of 13 ft rods, would it be worth cutting up a section of wood/stick/bamboo etc to exactly 6.5 foot and set if it still fits in the van?

Dont forget to add some on for the padding in your rod bag if you use 1

13ft just about fit in the maxi can't see it in the caddy to be honest

Avin in said that we are loaded up to the rafters so can only go in straight

I have 12.6 rods in a made to measure holdall and they just go in my standard caddy diagonally over the barrow. Very tight on 13 footers I would say but I'm sure I transported my mates 13 footers once. I think we might have had to take them out the holdall tho.

There probably is 6 inches to spare, just about. But it's not as straightforward as that. 4 x longer rods will add to the width as well as the length, plus a larger rod hold-all.

Was simply asking if anyone had any experience, you know, the sort of question you might ask other people on a fishing forum?
