Considering purchasing one of these jackets. Obviously the Fortis has a slightly better material but I'm wondering if anyone has managed to compare the both as there is a big difference in price.
Can only comment on the Fortis but it really is that good.... 
.....I was out last Thursday night into Friday morning and it was horrible, heavy rain, sleet and snow as I packed away, probably the worst pack up ever... 
The Fortis kept me warm and bone dry....after over an hour and a half of constant exposure to the elements water was still beading up on the surface and a quick shake and it was virtually dry......no saturation at all and as lightweight as when I first put it on.
Like I say I can't comment on the Korda one but from videos I have seen it does appear to saturate after a while....IMO the Fortis is worth every penny.

What is the sizing like? Are you wearing layers underneath?

Got to admit aswell u haven't seen the Korda one in person meant to be pretty good but the fortis one is brilliant of the two I'd get the fortis only problem is the sizing can be pretty hit and miss, you could buy 3 jackets in size large and all 3 could fit you differently

I usually buy a Large in whatever I wear, (6ft & 14 stone, 44 chest) and did so with the Fortis.
I would say it fits true to size. I had a long sleeved t-shirt, short sleeved t-shirt, long sleeved sweatshirt and a hoodie on under mine at one point last weekend with room to spare. I couldn't get an SJ9 on under it but one of the lightweight puffa style jackets would be no problem.

I wasn't slagging the Fortis off at all I just commented that on face value, it was difficult to see the difference.....what's wrong with that? On the face of things you can't see much difference between lots of products...
I decided to purchase one on the strength of a recommendation from someone in the trade who's opinion I respect, (not employed by Fortis) who praised them highly and indeed it just shows you cannot judge a book by it's cover because they are superb.

That statement you get what you pay for doesn't work in this day and age it's an old saying that was used when true no more everyone is out to charge as much as they can get regardless of quality

Uuuummm, let me see fortis made to order in the UK so in the very unlikely case of a problem it's sent to Devon? Oh the other one made by a forth party shipping from China with shipping costs and korda profit distributed to a shop with a mark up for shop probably still made cheap enough if there's a problem no issue sir we will give you a replacement and return that one to the skip.

I had a look at both in the shop today and the fortis feel very good quality but so did the korda.If I was in the market for a new waterproof jacket I would spend the extra on the fortis.

Yeah true I suppose.. certainly the case with a lot of carp gear, I have a thing about Cotswold Aquarius quality that i personally don't think comes anywhere near to justifying the cost....
OK, put it another way then, the performance of the Fortis jacket is, in my opinion, worth the price tag.

On the Cotswold point. I've owned alot of their kit and I must say the build quality is excellent. I did however, find the bags very difficult to use. They had so many pockets they become pretty much impossible to use. If you filled one pocket you couldn't use another etc. I sold it all and purchased the Speero gear. I think the quality matches Cotswold and feels made for purpose.
